She was born March 2, 1923 in Remus, MI to John and Elsie (Case) James and had been a Muskegon area resident most of her life. Mrs. Wanerus worked for the Secretary of State in Muskegon Heights before retiring. On December 24, 1954, she married Carl C. Wanerus in Muskegon and he survives her along with a son, James (Sharon) Galpin of Georgia; 5 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Burdette Wanerus; 2 brothers, Avey and Kenneth James; and sisters, Neva Tufts and Eva O’Callaghan.
