Mr. Albert B. Stenseng, age 95 passed away Sunday evening, March 7, 2010 following a brief illness. Al was born in Lindsay, CA the 3rd of 5 children to Martin and Lillian (Swann) Stenseng. He moved to Muskegon from Alpena, MI in 1924 and was a 1935 graduate of Muskegon H.S. On June 24, 1939 he married the former Dolores C. Bettens. Mr. Stenseng was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Navy Seabees and was a journeyman electrician by trade. Throughout the years, Al was employed at, Hall Electric, Newkirk Electric and retired in 1975 from Jones Electric where he was an estimator. He was a former member of the Lincoln Golf Club and the Optimist. Albert was devoted to his faith and was a former member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, while at First Lutheran, he served as a Sunday school teacher, served on the church council and assisted in the design and moving from its original location on Jackson Hill to its present location on Giles Rd. In recent years, Al was a faithful member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Mr. Stenseng was an accomplished artisan and contributed many of his stained glass windows to the church. He is survived by: his wife of 70 years, Dolores; three daughters, Jeanine (Thomas) Ober of N. Muskegon, Sharon (Bill) Johnson of Ferrysberg and Melanie (David) Wilson of Norton Shores; two grandchildren, Tyson (Lisa) Schubert and their daughter Madeline and Angela (Mike) VanderStelt. The funeral service will be held at: St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1655 Norton Ave, 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 11, 2010, Rev. Rachael N. Evans officiating. Visitation: one hour prior to the service. Interment: Norton Cemetery. Memorial: St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100.
